Do I have to share my retirement with my spouse if I earned it all myself?

Jurisdictions may differ, but in most cases, retirement that was saved during the marriage is considered a marital, joint or shared asset that is part of the overall division. How an asset or liability is titled doesn’t impact whether or not it is a shared asset.
