If I buy out spousal support in a lump sum and my spouse gets married, can I get some of the lump sum back?
Probably not. Once paid, a lump sum is typically considered final and should be carefully considered before entering into this type of agreement. However, depending on the terms of the agreement and applicable laws, a lump sum buyout agreement may be subject to modification in the future if circumstances change significantly, such as a change in income or financial status of either party.
