I have always been the primary decision-maker on medical decisions for the kids, does that have to change?
If joint decision-making is part of your parenting plan, both of you will need to share responsibility for medical decisions. However, your expertise and experience can still play a vital role. Shared decision-making may mean one of you will still take a lead in gathering information and making the decision, you just both need to be on board with the final decisions. Open communication and trust between you will help you make the best decisions for the children.
