If I don’t have an attorney, do I have to go in front of a judge to obtain a divorce?

Jurisdictions may differ, but you often will have to talk to a judge or court official if you don’t have an attorney. Even if you and your spouse agree on everything, the Court will want to make sure you fully understand the implications of your agreements.
